A place in the 2026 Reserves Grand Final is at stake on Sunday afternoon as Leeds Rhinos head to Victoria Park to take on Warrington Wolves in the semi-finals, kick off 12pm.

A resounding 66-4 win over Hull FC saw the Rhinos claim third place in the league table following the conclusion of the Top Six series, and subsequently set up a third meeting of the year with the Wolves, who had already secured second place in the standings earlier in July following their 42-22 win over the Rhinos. In a rematch of last year's Reserves finale, Chev Walker's side hope to upset the Wolves for a second year and set up a fixture against either Wigan or Wakefield in this year's Final. The Wire on the other hand have aims of taking a way a third win of the season against Sunday's opponents and stake their claim to be Reserves champions a year on from being runners up.

It's been a mixed year for Leeds' Reserves, who overcame a difficult start against Wakefield, Wigan and Warrington to put together a run of six consecutive wins against Bradford, Huddersfield, London, Hull FC, Castleford and St Helens and put them firmly in the conversation for the top six play-off series. When the season split came into effect towards the end of June, the side responded after a tough 24-6 outing against Wigan to run 13 tries past Castleford and get their first win of the second half of the season. Once again, Warrington and Wakefield both caught the Rhinos off-guard to put the side in jeopardy of missing out on a semi-final spot, but a closing 66-4 win over Hull at AMT Headingley not only put Leeds in the top four but also saw them avoid Wigan by moving into third place.

Winger Riley Lumb turned his form for the Reserves into tries for the first team on their recent outing against York Knights, having touched down 22 times in 16 games for Walker's side this campaign. Zak Lloyd's performances have also paved the way for the next generation of talent to showcase themselves in Brad Arthur's side too, including centre Oscar Brown after he scored twice on his return to Reserves action against Hull.

The competition has also been an opportunity for Academy players to get valuable minutes against senior players. Jacob Tooala and Junior Rowse were the latest to move from the Under-18s to make their Reserves bows against Wakefield during the top six matches as they are two out of 14 Academy players to feature for the Reserves this season.

With 30-18 and 44-22 wins over Leeds already this campaign, Warrington have the formbook on their side heading into Sunday's fixture. Ryan O'Brien's side did Leeds a favour on the final game of the season as their 28-18 win over Wakefield helped the Rhinos jump Trinity and set up Sunday's match, and also allowed the side to get back to winning form after they suffered defeat to Wigan at Robin Park. 

Largely led by a strong cohort of players lower down Sam Burgess' first team squad, the Wolves have been able to call up the likes of Cai Taylor-Wray, Lachlan Webster and Jake Thewlis, who have all made their senior bows in recent years, alongside the likes of Jack Fallon, Tommy Rhodes and Isaac Holdsworth who helped the club's Academy to victory last weekend against Leeds. 

Apart from the unbeaten Warriors, London, Castleford and Hull are the only sides to have defeated Warrington this campaign - all by close scorelines. Leeds look to become the fourth club to inflict a loss on the Wire, who themselves can avenge the Grand Final defeat from 12 months ago.
